Her plans are challenged by meeting Yonatan, a mysterious stranger still reeling from his own losses. Yonatan says Rachel has a calling – and his message leads Rachel to see her Jewish heritage in an entirely new light.

The world needs Rachel much more than she could have ever imagined. But as her life and relationships are challenged in new and unexpected ways, Rachel is torn between her higher purpose and her daily life.

Author Bio
Evonne Marzouk, a Philadelphia native, demonstrated her writing prowess from high school, winning the Israel Programs Center fiction contest and publishing several stories. At Johns Hopkins University, she further honed her skills, graduating Phi Beta Kappa from the Writing Seminars program. Marzouk co-edited The Charles St. Standard and edited books at Bancroft Press while in college. Post-college, she was the COEJL Legislative Fellow at the Religious Action Center for Reform Judaism, representing the Jewish community on environmental issues. Marzouk combined her passion for environmental issues with her Jewish faith by founding Canfei Nesharim, an organization teaching Jewish wisdom about environmental protection, and authored "Uplifting People and Planet: Eighteen Essential Jewish Lessons on the Environment." She also created Jewcology.com, a resource-sharing portal for the Jewish-environmental community. Working at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency since 1999, she participated in important global environmental initiatives and received numerous awards for her service. Marzouk's novel "The Prophetess" marks her debut into the literary world. She continues to serve on the executive board for Canfei Nesharim, teaches about Torah and the environment, and resides in Silver Spring, MD with her family.
