Overview
My Father Said, Mi Padre Dijo is a love letter to all working dads. Through vibrant and colorful images that reflect Latino themes and perspectives, this bilingual book beautifully highlights the tireless dedication and selflessness of fathers. For many Latino dads, love is often demonstrated through actions more than words. Written and illustrated by renowned creativity crusader and artist Simon Silva, each page is a demonstration of paternal love in action. Silva, a renowned artist, used different techniques for the illustrations including a combination of sketches, photo references drawn out in Illustrator and photoshop to bring the images to life. Silva, one of eleven children in a family of farmers, grew up as a migrant student and relied heavily on his artistic skills and interest to cope with what was at times a difficult childhood. Silva graduated from the Art Center College Of Design.
