Overview
Ultrasound is a first-line, dynamic imaging tool whose value depends on knowing real-time anatomy and probe technique. This practical guide teaches sonoanatomy for the head and neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis, vascular structures, and musculoskeletal system with simple stepwise scanning protocols. Each chapter pairs annotated images with probe positioning tips, normal variant descriptions, and common pitfalls that lead to misinterpretation. Focused chapters explain image optimization, Doppler basics, and bedside applications in emergency and outpatient settings. Clinical scenarios demonstrate how ultrasound findings change management — from FAST scans to guided procedures. A hands-on primer for clinicians, sonographers, and trainees learning point-of-care and diagnostic ultrasound.
