Overview
Embryology traces the remarkable choreography from a single cell to a multicellular organism, revealing patterns that recur across species. Volume 1 follows development from fertilization through organogenesis, explaining axis formation, germ layer fate, and morphogenetic movements with clear timelines and diagrams. Genetic control of early events is woven into the narrative so readers see how genes shape form and function. Laboratory techniques and diagnostic approaches are summarized for students entering research or clinical specialties. The text balances conceptual frameworks with practical examples of developmental anomalies and their mechanistic bases. Useful timelines and flowcharts make complex sequences easy to follow.
