Overview
Remote sensing has revolutionized crop management by providing innovative, data-driven approaches for monitoring crop health, detecting diseases, and optimizing productivity. This book delves into the cutting-edge techniques and tools that enhance modern agricultural practices. The chapters explore various aspects of remote sensing, from basic principles to advanced applications, including disease detection, pest management, and water productivity estimation. By utilizing satellite imagery, UAVs, and hyperspectral imaging, remote sensing offers precise and large-scale insights into crop conditions. This enables early detection of stress factors such as diseases and pest infestations, which can significantly reduce yield losses. Additionally, the integration of remote sensing with data analytics, such as machine learning algorithms, enhances decision-making by providing real-time, actionable information for precision agriculture. This book also highlights case studies, practical applications, and emerging trends in the field, making it a valuable resource for researchers, agronomists, and agricultural professionals. Ultimately, the book emphasizes the role of remote sensing in promoting sustainable farming practices, improving crop productivity, and ensuring food security in the face of global agricultural challenges.
