Dr. Vilas Daulatrao Aher (MVSc, PhD, LLB, FISVS) Professor and University Head (Veterinary Surgery & Radiology) is working as Associate Dean of KrantiSinh Nana Patil College of Veterinary Science, Shirwal since 31st August 2021. Dr V.D. Aher graduated from College of Veterinary Animal Science, Parbhani and obtained MVSc in Vet. Surgery and Radiology from Marathwada Agriculture University, Parbhani and Doctoral degree from Maharashtra Animal & Fishery Science University, Nagpur. He has more than 34 years’ experience of Teaching, Research and Extension in Veterinary Surgery and Radiology. After staring his career as Veterinary Officer, he worked as Professor and Head of Department of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Parbhani and Udgir for several years and Associate Dean of Post Graduate Institute of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Akola from May 2019 to July 2020. He has also worked as Director of Extension Education, at MAFSU, Nagpur, Dean (Fishery Science) in 2020 and Director of Instructions and Dean (Vet. Science) at MAFSU, Nagpur in year 2021. He has 110 research articles at his credit out of which 16 articles have been published in International Journals and 94 in national reputed journals. He has guided 36 M. V. Sc. Students for research of their degree programs as Major Advisor and 3 Ph. D. students as member. Presently he is guiding One Ph. D. and One M.V.Sc. student. He had handled 02 research projects funded by national agencies as Principal Investigator and also acted as Implementing Officer for 10 projects sanctioned Viz. Indian Council of Agricultural Research and Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana , AICRP on Pig and MAFSU Research Grants. Dr V. D. Aher was elected as member of Maharashtra State Veterinary Council, Nagpur and has worked as member of MSVC from 2007 to 2018. Dr V.D. Aher has written one chapter in a Handbook and published 01 book in Marathi and one monograph. He has developed more than 14 technologies for the benefit of stakeholders and has participated in numerous extension education activities. Dr V.D. Aher has organized more than 100 Trainings / workshop / seminar / conference in the field of Veterinary Sciences.Dr V.D. Aher has been honoured with 13 Awards. He was honoured with Fellowship of Indian Society of Veterinary Surgery (FISVS) in the year 2021.
