Olaf Hajek (b. Rendsburg, 1965; lives and works in Berlin) is o ne of the world’s most successful illustrators. His work has appeared in newspapers including the New York Times and London’s The Guardian. He is a magician of color and a superb storyteller. Over the past few years, he has also built a reputation as visual artist with paintings in acrylic on wood or cardboard. The spellbinding charm of his drawings and textured paintings derives from their folkloristic naïveté and fresh spontaneity.
