Overview
Over the past several years, Natalia Stachon (b. Katowice, Poland, 1976; lives and works in Berlin) has developed a vocabulary of lyricalminimalist forms that manifest themselves in her objects, sculptures, and installations. After graduating from the University of Fine Arts of Hamburg, she closely studied 1960s and 1970s American minimalism, focusing in particular on the processoriented exploration of objects in space undertaken, for instance, by Robert Morris. In her art, Stachon stages an atmosphere of attention in which both the works themselves and their relation to space and audience create intense experiences. The present monograph offers a first survey of Natalia Stachon’s work. Includes essays by Dorothea Strauss and Gregory Volk as well as a conversation between the artist and HansJörg Clement.
