A sneaky alligator with an appetite knows no bounds when it comes to snacktime, unless, of course, his snacks are learning to swim.
Alligator Mr. Choppers hates snack time at the zoo—stinky sardines, yuck! So when he slips past the zookeeper in search of a new scrumptious snack and is mistaken for a swim instructor, it feels like his lucky day. After all, the snacks - er, students - are waiting in the pool like plump little dumplings. Unfortunately, snacktime comes after the lesson, and the tasty morsels are slow learners. Mr. Choppers must use his gator skills to get them swimming, before his cover is blown and his appetite sinks.
Young readers who love the element of suspense and rooting for characters with questionable motives won't be disappointed! Mr. Choppers is as delightful as he is dangerous, and fortunately, an exceptional swimmer, too. Author Bio
Lorenzo Lind grew up in Alaska, where she spent summers fishing for salmon on the Kenai River, picking wild cranberries, and running from bloodsucking mosquitoes. She studied plant diseases in college and taught high school biology before starting her writing career. When she’s not concocting a story, she’s dreaming up her next travel adventure or hike in the woods. Lorenzo lives near Boston, Massachusetts with her family and an orange fluffball cat named Sebastian. A Snack for Mr. Choppers is her debut picture book.Hannah Marks is an illustrator based in Hertfordshire, England. She creates her artwork digitally and likes to use brushes that emulate traditional media and texture. Hannah has worked in children's publishing for over ten years and has illustrated children’s books for clients such as Penguin Random House, Bloomsbury, Capstone, Running Press Kids, Scholastic, and Wonderlab, among others. In May 2021 Hannah, along with author Deborah Underwood, won the Sukura Medal in the picture books category for The Panda Problem.
