Overview

A heartwarming true-to-life story that teaches children the most important lesson of all: being different is what makes you special.

When an accident leaves Bethany with only one eye, she's afraid no one will ever love a dog who looks different. But after a journey to Annabelle Acres and the kindness of new friends, Bethany discovers that true beauty isn't found in appearances—it's found in courage, confidence, and a loving heart. Inspired by the real-life mission of Annabelle Acres Labrador Retriever Adoption, this heartwarming story celebrates resilience, compassion, and the joy of finding a family that loves you exactly as you are.

Author Bio
Annabelle Acres Labrador Retriever Adoption is a Wisconsin-based nonprofit dedicated to giving retired Labrador Retrievers a second chance at life. Since 2018, the organization has helped more than 150 retired breeding dogs find loving forever homes throughout the Midwest. Every dog receives medical care, socialization, and plenty of love before beginning the next chapter of life with a new family. Inspired by the remarkable dogs they've met along the way, the team at Annabelle Acres hopes Bethany's story reminds readers that every dog—and every person—deserves to be seen for who they truly are.
