Best known for his poetry, such as "The Raven" and his short stories, Poe is also considered to be the trailblazer of the detective fiction genre, after writing The Murders in the Rue Morgue. His literary legacy is huge and he influenced numerous writers, such as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and H. G. Wells.
