Overview

· Lyla in the Loop content has been streamed more than 260 million times across PBS KIDS video platforms (Google Analytics, PBS KIDS Cross-platform streams, PBS KIDS Games App game stats).
· Lyla in the Loop associated games have been played over 65 million times on PBSKIDS.org (pbskids.org game pageviews, February 5, 2024-June 30, 2025, PBS).
· Ages 4–8: Designed for early learners; premiered on PBS KIDS in February 2024. It continues to air across local PBS Kids stations and affiliates nationwide, and in many instances, in their prime-time slots. The show is also available to stream on PBS KIDS platforms (website and app) and YouTube.
· Relatable lead: Lyla is a dynamic 7-year-old Black girl living in a bustling city withher close-knit family, and her fantastical blue sidekick Stu — a fantastical blue creature analogous to a computer, helps children make sense of abstract ideas in fun and concrete ways.
· STEM + Computational Thinking: Introduces kids to creative problem-solving.and foundational computational thinking concepts—like algorithms, debugging, and
abstraction—through everyday adventures.
· Community-rooted: Inspired by Philadelphia; includes real kids’ voices in the
theme song, and every episode’s title card is inspired by a child’s original artwork!
· Educational support: Supplemental resources and activities available on PBS Learning Media and PBSKids.org; similar resources will be available in the books!
· Common Sense Media’s Best TV Series of 2024 (for ages 5–7).
· 2025 Excellence in Early Learning Digital Media Honor from the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC).
· PBS KIDS social media campaign for Lyla in the Loop won the 2025 Webby Awards People’s Voice Award in the Kids & Family Social category.
· The story-based digital game “Lyla and Stu’s Hairdos” was a 2025 Webby Honoree in the AI, Immersive & Games for Kids & Family category.
· The episode “Stu’s Super Stunts” earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Interactive Media
· Second season coming: A sophomore season is currently in production with an anticipated air date of Fall 2026.

Author Bio

Alliah L. Agostini grew up an avid reader in a cross-cultural African-American and Guyanese household in Buffalo, NY. After pursuing a career marketing everything from beauty and personal care to home decor, motherhood helped her return to her first love: children's literature.

Now an author and speaker, Alliah has spoken at schools, libraries, corporations, and on several podcasts. She is also the author of the acclaimed The Juneteenth Story: Celebrating the End of Slavery in the United States. Alliah and her work have been highlighted on the TODAY Show, CNN, WashingtonPost.com, Good Housekeeping, and more.

Alliah writes to spread joy, truth, and to help more children see themselves reflected on the page. She and her family live in the suburbs of New York City, where she enjoys impromptu dance parties, museum hopping, and summer festival season. Big Tune is her debut fiction picture book.
