Nearly half of the inhabitants of large European cities (London Berlin Amsterdam¦) and a rising proportion of many countries' overall populations are immigrants or from an ethnic minority. However little systematic account has been taken of this in research and prevention of suicide. This volume seeks to address this gap. Leading experts look at rates of suicidal behavior among immigrant and minority groups the risk factors specific groups known to have a particular high risk such as refugees the role of cultural factors and translation of epidemiology theory and other research findings into solid prevention and treatment programs.
