Overview

Some gifts come with a terrible price.

Tommy Langley was just a wilderness guide from Colorado — until he was struck by lightning on a routine climb up the Mount of the Holy Cross. He survived. His client, legendary Hollywood director Ed Bandini, did not. But something else happened on that mountain. Now, when Tommy touches another person, he can see their darkest secrets.

Dragged into the glittering, corrupt world of Hollywood for Bandini’s funeral, Tommy meets the director’s daughter, Carla, a beautiful, haunted young woman who has spent her life surrounded by predators. When Tommy’s new ability reveals the horrifying truth about the powerful men who orbit the industry, he and Carla form an unlikely alliance to expose a hidden network of child exploitation and abuse that reaches the highest levels of power.

Now they’re being hunted. The closer they get to the truth, the more dangerous it becomes. Because in Hollywood, some secrets are worth killing to protect.

Seer is a gripping supernatural thriller from Mike Baron, the legendary comic book writer best known for his groundbreaking work on Marvel’s The Punisher.

Author Bio
Mike Baron is a comics legend turned novelist. With illustrator Steve Rude he co-created Nexus, the groundbreaking science-fiction series that earned him two Eisner Awards and an Inkpot Award and has been published in five languages. He went on to become the first writer on Marvel's ongoing Punisher series — a seminal, multi-year run of more than sixty issues — and relaunched DC's The Flash for the Wally West era, in addition to writing Batman and Star Wars and creating the Badger, Florida Man, and many other properties.

Baron brings that same velocity to prose. His multi-volume Bad Road Rising series follows Josh Pratt, a reformed motorcycle hoodlum who found God in jail, got out, and became a private investigator — stories that are bleak, brutal, harrowing, and often very funny. He is also the author of the standalone horror novels Helmet Head, Whack Job, and Skorpio, with short fiction in Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine and the Blood Lite anthologies. Meanwhile Nexus continues to reach new readers in deluxe hardcover omnibus editions. Baron lives in Colorado.
