People with diabetes are prone to a number of musculoskeletal complications such as carpal tunnel syndrome, shoulder pain and Dupuytren’s syndrome (thickening of the tissues of the palm resulting in the fingers being bent towards the palm). The relationship between these complications and the diabetic control is not clear.
