The Assyrian raiders have left Jerusalem, but they took something precious from Abigail on their way out—her brother, Mishael. Defying her father’s orders, Abigail secretly joins the rest of her family and their friends on a mission to rescue him. But the journey won’t be easy or safe, even when men from King Hezekiah’s army join them on their quest. Assyrian soldiers are still hiding in the shadows, waiting to make their next move.
Plagued with worry, Abigail struggles to trust in God’s provision and protection, especially when it becomes clear that someone in their own company is determined to sabotage their mission. Will they ever rescue Mishael, or is Abigail’s brother lost for good?

Author Bio
Avery Grace is thrilled to join the Guideposts family with My Refuge and Strength, her contribution to the Women of the Psalms series. She is a native Texan, the daughter and granddaughter of evangelists. She spends the year’s warmest days swimming with her seven-year-old granddaughter, and together they grow tomatoes, though only Avery eats them. She is a big fan of audiobooks, daydreaming, and singing hymns to herself, and is fascinated by the historical time periods designated BC.
