Overview
Ronen Hezi has provided in this volume a study and edition of Derush Hefsi Ba, known as Sefer ha-Derushim of Rabbi Joseph Ibn Tabul. This is an extremely important Lurianic work by a central student of Rabbi Isaac Luria (ha-ArI). The edition contains an introduction about the author and his works and a study of the known versions of Derush Hefsi Ba in manuscript. Additionally, the edition contains apparatus that decodes the numerical equivalences used in the work. Derush Hefsi Ba was published by Masud ha-Kohen in 1926, who had access to poor manuscript witnesses and then the work was attributed to Hayyim Vital. This new edition offers a major contribution to the study of Ibn Tabul and Lurianic Kabbalah more generally.
