Sloth & Hummingbird is a modern Winnie-the-Pooh set in the wonder and calm of the Atlantic Rainforest.
While Hummingbird thinks a mile a minute, Sloth is more slow-going. To start the day, Hummingbird worries: They’ll never make it in time! Hummingbird has a surprise planned that will be ruined if Sloth doesn’t hurry.
Sloth helps his friend calm down. Together, they do a breathing exercise, noticing what they can see, feel, and sense all around them. Observing the forest helps Hummingbird appreciate that sometimes the destination isn’t as important as the friends who join the journey. But still... will they make it? Or will the sun set before Sloth sees Hummingbird’s surprise?

Author Bio
Josh Oaktree (author) is the managing director and founder of Oak Tree Comics, an independent publisher where imagination meets environmentalism. His award-winning books for young and middle-grade readers include the Art & Oakie Ask series, A Good Planet is Hard to Find, Thorn the Unicorn, and The Weird Animal Hour. Bruna Martins is a Brazilian illustrator and graphic designer based in São Paulo. She holds a degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the University of São Paulo (USP) and has illustrated several children's books published in Brazil. Sloth & Hummingbird, published by Oak Tree Comics, is her first book released in the United States. Alongside children's publishing, she creates editorial illustrations for magazines and educational materials, with a body of work inspired by nature, childhood, and Brazilian biodiversity.
