Maria Kernahan and Michael Schafbuch are the creators of the popular Alphabet Cities series of childrens’ books that explore great American cities. They started with their love of Aspen, Colorado and moved on to other cities, including Chicago, Maria’s hometown and Seattle, where Michael has lived for the past 30 years.
