Author Bio
Roy Salmond is a Vancouver-based producer, engineer, author, and multi-instrumentalist who is fascinated by the interplay between art, beauty, and the living of a good life. From his early days touring the globe as a singer-songwriter, through hundreds of award-winning album production and performance credits with artists in genres from pop and punk to folk and funk, Roy’s curiosity and passion for creative discovery have never wavered. The recipient of GMA Canada’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2015, Roy continues to produce music and find new avenues for creative exploration, including podcast hosting (family360), speaking at conferences and workshops, and writing Between the Notes—a weekly blog he started on a dare. When he’s not in the studio, you can find Roy reading voraciously, mentoring artists, riding his bike, playing with his grandkids, strumming one of the six-stringed companions in his formidable collection, and listening to vinyl on Sunday afternoons with his wife, Gayle.
