Overview

By the time you finish reading this book, you will probably agree that it is one of the most motivating books ever written. Some may even say, stuff like this doesn't happen, but as unbelievable as it sounds, its all true. As a child, Dr. Donald Arnette, was a bright kid who hid his intelligence from his teachers and friends. He was a basketball fanatic who dreamt of playing in the NBA one day. Learning the game and dreaming the dream was an exciting time for him, but this was not the part of his life that made his story so interesting.

When reality set in that he would never play professionally, he turned his attention to another career. It was on this path where his life changed forever. After high school, he enrolled in one of the most prestigious medical schools in the nation. While there he faced obstacles such as conditional acceptance, an unjust arrest, and incarceration, which resulted in a legal battle with the state of Texas. These challenges caused him to ask himself some serious questions. Why me? What did I do to cause them to have this perception of me? Could I have done something differently? How do I get even? How can I stop feeling this way? And most importantly, how can I prove to them that their perception of me was wrong? In this book, "I AM SUPPOSED TO BE HERE," Dr. Donald Arnette, answers his questions and shares the experiences of trial, tribulation, and how he overcame adversity.
