Reproducible Thematic Unit in French with English Directions
The Education Reproducible Thematic Unit in French with English directions is comprised of novice-level activities, emphasizing real-life situations in which students interact in the target language, addressing twenty-first century skills in second language acquisition. They include listening, speaking, reading, writing, puzzles, and authentic scenarios. A teacher’s reference core vocabulary for each unit, and suggested class fun activities are also added. To Align the material in this ebook to the Common Core Standards through The Standards for Foreign Language Learning in the 21st Century, one or more of the three modes of communication: Interpersonal, Interpretive or Presentational, is indicated for each activity accompanied by the National Standard/s utilized in the activity.
Ms. Rosemary Haigh received her BA and MA in French from St. John’s University, NY. She was a Fullbright Scholar, received the French Government Assistantship and completed her graduate work at the Sorbonne, Paris. Ms. Haigh has taught in France, Poland and Australia. She presently teaches in the Elmont School District. She taught more more than thirty years in the Sewanhaka CHSD where she was honored as "Teacher of the Year." Ms. Haigh has taught French from the beginning levels in junior high school to the advanced placement level in high school. She has been an adjunct for Adelphi University in New York teaching the college level French course. She co-authored The Sewanhaka Central High School District’s Curriculum Guide in French for Checkpoint A as well as Proficiency Press Co. publications: C'est Ton Tour: Aiming for Proficiency in French, The Teachers' Handbook in French, Authentic Assessment in French and Suivez-Moi.
