Kahlil Gibran (1887-1931) was a Lebanese-American poet, writer and artist. He is hailed as a leading figure of Arabic literary modernism whose work also saw souring popularity during the American New Age movement of the 1960s. His notable works include The Prophet, The Madman and Broken Wings which continue to inspire people today.
