Overview
The microbial communities living on and within living organisms form dynamic ecosystems that influence health, disease, and environmental balance. These intricate networks of microorganisms interact with their hosts in complex ways. Ecology of the Microbiome explores the structure, diversity, and function of microbial communities across habitats. The book discusses symbiosis, nutrient cycling, and microbial competition within ecological and medical contexts. It also addresses the impact of diet, antibiotics, and environment on microbiome composition. Through a multidisciplinary approach, it connects microbial ecology with human health, emphasizing the delicate balance that sustains microbial ecosystems.
