Overview
The process of cell division is central to growth, development, and tissue repair in all living organisms. The regulation of this process ensures that cells duplicate their DNA and divide accurately, maintaining genetic stability. Cell Cycles and Checkpoints explores the molecular mechanisms that control progression through different phases of the cell cycle. The book discusses cyclins, kinases, and regulatory proteins responsible for checkpoint control, DNA repair, and error correction. It also examines the implications of cell cycle dysregulation in cancer and developmental disorders. Integrating molecular biology with biomedical insights, it provides a comprehensive understanding of how cellular life is precisely timed and coordinated.
