Author Bio
The French romantic novelist Alexandre Dumas père (1802-70) was the author of a number of highly-regarded historical adventure novels including The Count of Monte Cristo, The Three Musketeers and The Man in the Iron Mask. He adapted the story The Nutcracker and the Mouse King by E.T. A. Hoffmann in 1844 and it is his version that was subsequently adapted into Tchaikovsky's timeless ballet The Nutcracker.
