Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) was an American poet known for her unique and unconventional style of writing. Born in 1830 in Amherst, Massachusetts, she lived a reclusive life, only publishing a handful of poems during her lifetime. Her work was discovered posthumously and received extraordinary praise from leading magazines and newspapers. Today she is now considered one of the most important figures in American poetry, known for her introspective and thought-provoking themes.
