The Baby and Me-Tobacco Free Program underwent a 3 year research analysis from 2006-2010 by the NY State Department of Health's Tobacco Control Program. Results were published in the National Maternal and Child Health Journal, January 2011. In 2005 the program was awarded a "Model Practice Award" by the National Association of City and County Health Officials. The published results indicate a 60% quit rate of women enrolled in the program, at 6 months postpartum.Maternal and child health have been at the center of her work as a prenatal instructor, labor support doula and smoking cessation facilitator for close to three decades.
