Featured in this volume are Henry Holsinger, L.S. Bauman, Mary Bauman, R. Paul Miller, W.A. and Frances Ogden, Allen Bennett, Orville Jobson, Charles W. Mayes, Jake Kliever, Noel Gaiwaka, Ralph Coburn, and Evelyn Fuqua. These “heroes” form a beautiful and complex mosaic that stretches across three centuries. These stories are meant to challenge and inspire, and are useful in a variety of settings, including small group use, Sunday School, and ABF lessons, for personal devotional use, and as “Mission Moments” in public worship services.
Author Bio
Robert Cover (1931-2017) and his family served for ten years in Argentina, where he pastored churches, managed a bookstore, and published the national church magazine, El Heraldo. After returning to the U.S., he became involved in Christian schools, serving as assistant director of the Midwest Association of Christian Schools International and as the principal and administrator of two Christian schools. He was also chaplain for a community hospital and a large nursing home. He and his wife, Joene, were married for 64 years. Viki Rife executive director of Women of Grace USA, the women’s organization of the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches. Formerly director of communications for Women of Grace and head of publications for CE National, she was raised by missionary parents in Argentina. She has a long-standing interest in journalism and served as editor of the Grace College student newspaper while studying journalism there. She and her husband John have three grown children and attend the Leesburg (Ind.) Grace Brethren Church, where she is active in youth and children’s work, Hispanic ministries, and mentoring needy girls.
